Our zipline Ecologically journey is operated in a cooperative manner with the Ethno-ecoagricultural Livelihood Conservation Group in Baan Wang Hang, Maeram. Tombol Maeram in the Maerim district, is the spot for our zipline experience, that is lower than one hours’ drive from Chiang Mai’s downtown hub. Close to our base camp, you can still visit the Maeram river with the grange fields being farmed close by with plants of rice, soy beans or egg plants being grown-up or harvested. Three villages are situated close-by, one near the base camp, another is up the hillside to our Silver package first point and the third one is further up the road to our Gold package starting point. The native villagers have expected full training in how to operate our zip line adventure securely & work jointly closely to make certain smooth and safe operation at all times. We have a best security record.
Program
Silver package is our “get your feet wet” zipline Eco adventure. Beating rapid through the air on ziplines, with the green forest on together sides as you fly by, you'll leave the busy world behind & engross yourself deep in the green forest. Round the zip line course are platforms balanced high up in the trees, with the spectacular jungle picture encircling you & grange fields by the side of the MaeRam brook far below. These are the start position and landing zone for many of our ziplines. For some other platforms there are bridges and steps that are used to go over between platforms. Our “Kung Fu Steps” are our homage to martial artist Bruce Lee, where you will walk, or almost hop, from one step to the next until you get to the next platform at the other side. As with all activities with Eagle Track, safety is the number 1 priority, so for our bridges
you will be hooked into a safety cable that runs above you. That way you're able to have enjoyable without nerve-racking about falling down. From one platform you have choice whether to descend using a spiral staircase or to get the quicker route and abseil down instead! The abseiling is executed while you are hooked into a security cable with the rate of descent gently illegal by our staff. Our “Zig-zag walkway” is a unique invention made of wooden planks that zig zag transversely to gradually make their way to the next platform. The Zig-zag bridge sways and bounces around as you cross, making this a enjoyment or menacing traversing, depending on the amount you'll get into the swing of things. The adventures ends with a walk across our 50 meter rattan bridge, charily constructed with interwoven rattan slats, and up past the striking waterfall to our cafe just on top of it. Also included with the Silver package is the round-trip transfer from Chiang Mai, a lunch at our Waterfall’s Edge cafe and munchies.

Wat Jamdevi or Wat Kukut

Wat Jamdevi or Wat Kukut is an important temple in Lamphun

Private tours Chiang Mai to Lamphun, you should try and get to see Wat Phra That Haripunchai and Wat Jamdevi or Wat Kukut is a second Wat you should consider visiting. It’s on the opposite side of town to the previous Wat and should take about 30mins walk. It gives you a chance to view the rest of the town as you wander there.
Just a short distance outside of the old city moat west of Lamphun is the temple of Cham Devi. The temple was founded in 755, but most of the temple's buildings are relatively modern and uninteresting. However, the temple is extremely significant for its two unusual chedis (pagodas), both built around 1218.
The Jamdevi houses one of the last surviving examples of Mon Dvaravati architecture in Thailand, the Mahabol chedi. The well preserved stepped pyramid chedi is also known as the Suwan Chang Kot chedi.
The chedi was built by King Athitayarat of the Haripunchai Kingdom to commemorate his victory over the Khmer halfway the 12th century. The current structure is from 1218, when it was rebuilt by King Saphsit after an earthquake damaged the original.
The brick chedi measuring 21 meters high is plastered with stucco. Standing on a square base are five square tiers of diminishing size. Each side of each tier contains three niches enshrining a standing image of the Buddha, decreasing in size towards the top. The images. cast in 1218 in molds, are in the Abhaya mudra (dispelling fear), the right hand raised. The arches over the niches contain intricate stuccoed decorations.

Similar chedis can be found at the Wat Phaya Wat in Nan, the Wat Mahathat in Sukhothai Historical Park, the Wat Phra That Haripunchai in Lamphun, and the Wat Chedi Liam in Chiang Mai.
On the back wall to the left of the principal Buddha image is a mural depicting a legend about Queen Chama Thewi. It shows Viranga, King of the Lawa people on top of Doi Suthep mountain throwing a spear towards the town of Haripunchai (present day Lamphun). According to the legend Viranga had wanted for many years to marry Queen Chama Thewi. Finally the Queen agreed provided that Viranga could throw three spears from the top of the mountain into the walled town. After the first spear had reached the town, Queen Chama Thewi who feared Viranga would succeed, offered him a turban made out of her sarong. Some menstrual blood that was still in the cloth weakened Viranga, after which he failed his second attempt.

Wat Rampoeng : The Northern Insight Meditation Center

Wat Rampoeng a great place to learn meditation

Wat Rampoeng : The Northern Insight Meditation Center welcomes all who are willing to learn the Vipassana-Meditation Practice to develop the mind.

Mental Development is a personal experience. It does not matter if you are Buddhist, Christian, Jewish or Moslem. Nor is it important what nationality or color you are, as each person in the world is longing for a better life. The Insight Meditation Technique taught here is the way to prepare a path to a better life of peace through the right understanding about one self.

MEDITATION is the English word for MENTAL-DEVELOPMENT.

There are two kinds of Meditation
  1. Tranquil - or Samatha Meditation develops concentration (samadhi) on one object to help calm the mind.
  2. Vipassana - or Insight Meditation develops self understanding through MINDFULNESS training.
The Teaching and Practice at Wat Ram Poeng (Tapotaram) is based on THE FOUR FOUNDATIONS OF MINDFULNESS.
  1. Contemplation of the body
  2. Contemplation of feelings
  3. Contemplation of the mind
  4. Contemplation of mind objects

Wat Ram Poeng offers a 26-day basic course in Vipassana (Insight) Meditation under the guidance of a Teacher on an on-going basis. For meditators who have completed the basic-course, a 10-day Insight Meditation Retreat can be taken which builds on the 26-day basic course.

For those who do not have time to join the full basic course, the Monastery offers the chance to try out the practice, but for not less than 10 days.

One of the toughest experiences I have had in my life. Practiced for 15 days with 10 to 12 hours meditation daily and learnt a lot about yourself. Recoment Wat Ram Poeng is the best meditation place I have ever been too in the world.
